Before the large live gatherings and the recordings that would carry Terry MacAlmon's music around the world, there was the piano. Instrumental Worship I captures that quieter side of his calling. Built around piano and orchestral arrangements, the album was created as music for personal worship - something that could fill a home, an office or a time of prayer without demanding the attention of a concert performance.

The song selection already contains many of the elements that would become familiar in Terry's ministry. Hymns sit beside worship songs, medleys and his own compositions. I Sing Praises appears here in an instrumental setting, allowing the melody to speak without a congregation or lead vocal. Other tracks flow from one song into another, creating extended moments rather than a collection of isolated performances.

That approach is important to the story of this album. Terry has always seen worship as more than singing through a set list. Music can create space to become still, to pray and to turn the heart toward God. Instrumental Worship I was designed for exactly that purpose.
