Lord, I Live

The Worship Express was created with a very specific purpose: to place worship in the mouths and hearts of children. Instead of writing a completely separate style of children's music, Terry MacAlmon took ten of his own worship songs and presented them with children carrying the vocals. The songs remain simple, clear and easy to learn, giving a younger generation music they can genuinely sing as worship.

The album opens with He Came to Give Us Life and then moves through songs that had already become familiar in Terry's ministry, including I Came to Worship You, Spirit of the Lord, Blessing and Honor, I Love You, We Worship Only You and Holy Are You, Lord. You're My Glory and My God and King complete a collection built around some of the most direct themes in worship: God's goodness, His holiness, love for Him and the desire to honor Him.

One of the strengths of The Worship Express is that the children are not treated as background decoration. They are the worshipers. Terry's role is to give them songs that are understandable without becoming shallow. The language is accessible, but the focus remains the same as in his adult recordings: Jesus is at the center.

The project was designed to help children and grandchildren grow into lifelong worshipers. That gives the album a purpose larger than entertainment. It is about passing worship from one generation to the next. The Worship Express may sound lighter and younger than Terry's major live albums, but its message is just as serious: children do not have to wait until adulthood to know the joy of worshiping God from the heart.
